A little something that I read and want to share with you.

Here is a little something that I want to share with all of you.

Anyway- original version by Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Monday run

Today I ran 4 miles I ran at an easy clear my mind kind of pace. While running I thought of an email that I sent out to some friends.

It's called "The Greatest General" by Neil Eskelin

Let tell you about a man who died and met Saint Peter at the pearly gates.
Realizing Saint Peter was a wise and knowledgeable person, he said,
"Saint Peter, I have been interested in military history for many years.
Tell me who was the greatest general of all times?" Saint Peter quickly responded,
"Oh, that's a simple question. It is that man right over there,"
as he pointed nearby. The man said, "You must be mistaken, Saint Peter. I knew that
man on earth. He was just a common laborer." "That's right, my friend," replied Saint Peter. "But he would have been the greatest general of all time -- if he had been a general."
You were created with natural abilities and an internal compass that guides you toward a particular focus for your life. That's only the starting point; the next step is yours. You have an
obligation to expand that potential to its ultimate destiny. Michelangelo said, "It is only well with me when I have a chisel in my hand." Discover what you are supposed to do and do it!

Sunday Morning Long Run

Today I ran 14 miles. I am hurting big time. However, I am so excited about "26 miles for 26 familes" that the pain does not matter. The donations are not flowing the way that I would like however, I know that those that want to give will.

This morning I rode my bike for 11.2 miles. As the day for the marathon approaches I am getting hyped.

Easy run Friday

Today I ran 4 miles using a new approach. I ran for 6 minutes walked for 1. I think this is the approach that I am going to use for the remainder of my training.

Counting Down

Hello,

Today I ran 12 miles. I ran about a 11 minute mile pace however, I decided that for the marathon I will probably run a much slower pace, after all my goal is 26 miles for 26 familes. Today's run was a little more difficult than last week's 11 mile run. I guess If I am going to run in the afternoon I should try eating breakfast or lunch. My body is aching so I guess it's time to soak for a while.

Biking

Today I decided to ride my bike for about 10 miles. The one drawback was that I started late and the first 5 miles were easy but it got dark so I had to hurry back to the start point. I was afraid they were going to lock the gate where my truck was park so I had to go much faster for the last 5 miles. But it was such a beautiful day that I truly enjoyed the ride. Though I could not see all that well it got dark fast.

Note to self: Get a light for my bike.
